This page contains links that the author has collected for the purpose of
equity research. These links are biased to the UK markets.
These links are divided into the following categories :-
There are at least the following lists of company web pages. Note than any
or all may well have been overtaken bu events, and be less than current, so it
may be worth trying more than one.
- The author's List of Company Web Pages: home, investor
relations and news web pages for London and Dublin quoted companies, including
AIM and OFEX listed companies, and those companies which have their primary
listing on other exchanges, and also EASDAQ quoted companies.
- Investor-relations.co.uk: Requires JavaScript.
Thorough alphabetical listing of company web sites, with icons indicating what
type of investor information is available on the site.
- The EASDAQ site gives
links to the web sites of companies traded on that exchange.
- The OFEX site
gives links to the web sites of companies traded on that exchange.
- iTruffle.com: links
to smaller (small cap, fledgeling and AIM) company web sites. The links are
hidden behind forms and redirectors so it's not possible to tell how complete a
list this is, but it looks promising.
- The Investment Center at ITC Communications: another
listing of company web pages; international scope.
- Peter
Temple's "linksite": another site listing company web pages (FTSE
500, EASDAQ, DAX, CAC and Eurotop), amongst other links. Can be accessed from
The NEW Online
Investor
- Plc Sites: another
site listing company web sites. Requires JavaScript. Also has
investment, news and search links.
- Company Sites at Sharegames
- Links to web pages of
FTSE-100 and
FTSE-250 companies at Digital Look.
Not all companies have web pages, but if none of the above provide a link
for the company of interest, a link might be found at Wrights'
Investor Services or
The
FT Company Briefs. If all else fails guesswork, or a
search engine, can be used to attempt
to locate the company's web page.
There is a service which provides printed copies of the annual and interim
reports of some companies. These can be ordered online from the
Financial Times Annual Reports Club, from
Equities Direct at
Hemmington Scott, or from Sharepages. If you accept the cookies offered by
these sites it is not necessary to enter your address every time you order. (It
may also be necessary to allow JavaScriptto run.)
An overlapping set of company reports can be read, downloaded or ordered at
company web sites. My list of company web sites facilitates following
this line of inquiry.
Finally some copies of company reports can be read free of charge at
Company Annual Reports On-Line (requires
JavaScript), and on a pay-per-view basis at
Corporate Reports.
Analysts' (or brokers') estimates can be found on
Equities
Direct (consensus) and the
Financial Times Annual Reports Club (individual estimates).
Individual brokers estimates can be also obtained from
HemScott.net, provided
that you use them as your ISP.
Some investors take purchases and sales of a company's shares by its
directors as an important investment signpost. However historical analysis has
not demonstrated that this is an effective criterion for basing investment
decisions on. Records of directors dealings can be obtained from
HemScott.net, provided
that you use them as your ISP.
- Citywatch:
Information on directors' and other significant share dealings. News from the
fund management industry. Only the latter is available to non-subscribers, and
even this has the historical records eliminated.
Corporate performance figures for UK companies can be found at
Corporate performance figures for overseas companies can be found at

As tip sheets are generally circulated on a subscription basis they are not
normally to be found online.
There are several active discussion groups, operating either as bulletin
boards, or as mailing lists. Beware of taking material posted on such groups as
reliable, as you do not know what the competence or agenda of the source is.
- Bulletin Board
Bestiary: a humorous look at the participants in discussion groups; may
encourage some healthy skepticism.
Some sites have a single forum for all equities; others have seperate boards
for individual companies. The latter can be used to check for news on a
company, to the degree that they can be said to be a reliable source.
